Hi,
I'm after any current recomendations for a VOIP ATA. I've signed up to an Internode Naked service and need a hardware ATA for my Exetel VOIP service rather than only using Sipdroid via my mobile phone.
Sipdroid works "OK", but using the existing cordless phones has got to be a whole lot better?
Thanks,
Paul
ATA recomendations for VOIP service
Re: ATA recomendations for VOIP service
Using softphones does get tiresome. The number of separate ATA models available seems to be declining, with home users preferring combined equipment. Popular ones with good results used to be PAP2, Minitar and Netcomm V210P. Apart from the Minitar these are getting harder to find. Business corded and cordless phone handsets are now common but expensive, with built-in ATAs fitted to them.
Some places to check for the range available (lots of others stock these too):
https://www.exetel.com.au/modemorder/index.php (Press the VoIP button!) - Cisco and Siemens
ATAs - http://www.jmgtechnology.com.au/index.php?cPath=24_106 - Minitars shown are popular

The popular PAP2T is being superseded by the SPA112 - http://www.jmgtechnology.com.au/product ... ts_id=4151

Re: ATA recomendations for VOIP service
Thanks Dazzled,
I've just ordered the Cisco SPA112 through costmart.com.au for $66.86 delivered to Hobart. Too many options, too many prices. This seems to be the best delivered price, and this ATA seems good. Thanks for the suggestion.
