VOIP calls not working , getting an engaged signal

Post by staunts » Sat Feb 09, 2013 4:13 pm

Hi all,

as the subject says. One thing though, I can call Exetel's 02 no and it appears to work.

If I ring my VOIP no from my mobile it rings but when I pick up the phone, I hear nothing and the mobile is just ringing out.

Not sure at all what is going on. Has anyone got any idea what could be happening ?

I have Netcomm NF1ADV all in one device.

Hi staunts,

On your modem/router, could you please verify these details:

Under VOICE->Basic Settings, please check if the following codec priorities are set
Preferred codec 1: G.711ALaw
Preferred codec 2: G.711ULaw

Other priorities are irrelevant.

Under VOICE->Advanced Settings
Enable T38 support is NOT ticked

If they're different change them to above, restart your router/modem and test the service.
