VOIP setup and troubleshooting

I have a new VOIP service and have been trying to connect. Setup up is a Netcomm V210P through a TL-WDR4300 then the NBN. I've configured the V210P as per guides supplied by Exetel and I can't get it to connect. I've also tried soft phone (Telephone and Express Talk) on a Mac and they cannot connect either. They receive the unauthorised 401 error message. I have 5060 port forward on the router and I can ping the Exetel sip servers. I'm not sure what the issue is but I can't figure out where I've gone wrong. Any help appreciated.
