No, it just needs to be turned on if it is off. I like to keep it turned off most of the time to save battery and data. But it would be very helpful to let people know that it needs to be on for MMS voice messages.


Yes, without mobile data it won't work. Mobile data must be turned on in order for MMS messages to download.
