Post by ForumAdmin » Tue Mar 11, 2008 10:53 am

We are in the process of revising the mobile plans offered by Exetel.

If you have a 'wish list' of things you would like changed or added please let us know.

Could you develop 2 types of plans:

- a plan with just usage rates (i.e. no monthly charge)?

- a plan with just usage rates (with a minimum 6-month $)?

Regards,

Harry.

Free Exetel to Exetel SMS & first 2 mins calls free (like on un-capped) on capped plans would be nice.

Just a thought.

That's really hard to do - but we will reduce SMS on all uncapped plans.

1) We are thinking through that option

2) That's difficult to do - it may be able to be addressed as a pre-paid plan though - $30.00 prepaid expiring in six months.

I don't know how to go about dealing with the iPhone 'lock' concepts.

Capped Plan changes are difficult for us at the moment as those plans are basically sold at our cost (profit on them is less than 3%).

Maybe a one-off setup charge would make it easier?

We were actually thinking of dropping the activation charge although it is a true cost (for the sim and postage).

My personal liking for simplicity sometimes gets in the way of Exetel's need to make a profit rather than the losses my simplicity often results in.

I like the idea of using VoIP for mobile phone calls,as is being done already. I'm not sure how this can be tied in, i suppose its really just a matter of setting it up and away you go.
Its something to think about.. A lot cheaper. Could provide a lot of extra value to these new plans. Good selling point..
Maybe some type of URL people can download pre configured settings to their phones to make it a little easier to set up. I'm not savvy enough to know the feasibility of this.

Hi,

I would like to see:-

1/ Shared spend on the non-capped consumer plans.
2/ Increasing the Exetel to Exetel Free Call time to 3 or 5 minutes.
3/ The minimum monthly charge kept as low as possible.

Whilst I would like to see a plan with no minimum monthly fee, I doubt this is economically viable for Exetel given that there would be both service provider and internal costs in providing a service even if there was no usage.

It's complicated to do - estimated by us to be around 9 man months of tricky coding.

We would expect generic code to become available by mid year.
