Barring of Premium SMS Feature - Congrats
Barring of Premium SMS Feature - Congrats
Big congratulations to exetel for being proactive in automatically barring this service. All to often we tend to bag our suppliers but here is a big thank you on this decision.

Re: Barring of Premium SMS Feature - Congrats
It's *NOT* a rip-off.
A few unscrupulous **SMS PROVIDERS** rip off people.
It doesn't mean the functionality is bad. It means some SMS Providers are bad.
The majority of Premium providers do not rip people off. The majority of Premium SMS's sent are competitions.
Premium SMS are often the only way you can enter real, legitimate competitions, to win cars, houses and holidays.
Why should the majority be penalized for the minority? It's not right that Premium SMS is banned, and the masses suffer.

Well said. I think barring by default is an excellent change. Adding the option to change the default makes it even better.James wrote:Then enable it on your account.

Yep, anyone who wants this can enable it. The only ones suffering will be the rip-off merchants. Good job Exetel.

The idea is for this money to dry up so these loafers can get some responsibility in life.
Props to Exetel if that is the case

Bear in mind this date is for the HSPA (via Optus) service.
The Exetel mobile service supplied by Vodafone will be some time later.
We are still waiting to hear on the situation with Vodafone.
