APN for new 'V' plans

Post by tassie » Tue May 03, 2011 10:26 am

I'm confused about whether the new 'V' plan is a Mobile plan or 'HSPA' plan. When signing up to the new 'V' plan, all documentation stated 'HSPA', but I am changing from a standard Vodafone 'Mobile' plan. Which is it?

I want this clear so that I can use the correct APN for the new 'V' plan - I'm not interested in being charged excessive data rates like some others have experienced. Which APN will I use for this plan?

1. The current V plan is a Mobile/HSPA plan the documentation is correct.

2. You can use anyone of the following APN's

YESINTERNET (this APN should be used for iphones)
OPTUSWAP
INTERNET

I'm confused.

I ordered a 'V' plan several days ago. I just received a detailed email telling me how to set up my new 'HSPA' plan. It includes all the details about setting up my 'PC' including ensuring that my APN is set to 'Exetel1'.

Can we please have a bit of consistency with information. I like Exetel's plans, but I rarely get the same information from 2 different people at Exetel. If the 'Exetel1' APN is incorrect, then can you please amend the email that is sent out to people!

I am looking into why you received documentation with regards to PC installation.

On the 'V' plans can you use the SIM card in a HSPA modem for the plans included data allowance ?
