Exetel Mobile Plan Specials for July

I currently have a CAP35 plan. The new members only Z15 plan looks like great value ($5 per month less for an extra .5GB of data).

1. Can we port across to this plan?

2. In the members area (order services) it says under Terms For Capped Plans - "$20.00 cost of SIM plus activation" but on the website under mobiles new customers are currently getting Free Activation and SIM delivery. How much does it cost to port an existing service?

3. As this service has a 12 month contract will we be able to move between plans if we find we need more data/calls?

Please note that if you are on a Capped plan currently, you will not be able to move to a "Z" plan.

Hi I'm very interested in the new July Mobile Special Plans however it is such a long time (decades!) that I've been on any sort of monthly plan I have some queries:
1. What exactly does the "Cap" mean. e.g. the minimum spend on (Z8) is $8and I can use $165 of calls /SMS. I really don't do much texting so can I use all $165 on calls of is there a 'split'?
2. Is there a maximum cost to the plans? In other words how do I know what my usage is? e.g. I don't want to be 'hit' with extra costs that I wasn't expecting.
3. Can I retain my current Vodaphone prepaid number?
4. I do use voicemail, so are there charges to call in and collect voicemails?

I realise these are basic questions but I would appreciate some clarity.

1) You have to be careful when using "cap" designated plans. The web site contains inclusions and exclusions:

2) There is no maximum cost - if you incur charges you will be billed for them. You can check your usage on the user facilities but bear in mind the charges listed there may be 48 hours behind your actual usage.

Can I move my wife's hspa WM-C which is a separate account onto my adsl account? And if so, will there be any downtime/ porting(ie will it be the same sim or will it need another sim)

I can't find where these charges are identified. I can see that 'Standard Voicemail' is listed under Capped Plan Inclusions but not costs.
Call charges are listed under the Cap Plan Terms button on the website:

For miscellaneous 'Other' charges click the 'Other Mobile charges' left sidebar menu.

Yes. Send an email to voice@exetel.com.au and we will link them.
And if so, will there be any downtime/ porting(ie will it be the same sim or will it need another sim)
Unless I misunderstand there won't be any porting or downtime necessary. It is just linking accounts together.

Hi,

I have a two part question.

1. If I pick a Z8 plan today, can I in 2 months time move that up to a Z15 plan, or visa versa from a Z15 to a Z8?

I too am interested in the July special mobile plans. The Z39 plan sounds like what I want, but I'm concerned about the billing increments for data. For example, I believe Optus charge data sessions in minimum blocks of 10Mb. Can you please advise what is the minimum block size that Exetel will bill on this plan.

On the existing CAP plan, I was charged $0.01 for a 26kb, $0.01 for 50kb, $0.12 for 424kb, and $0.00 for 6kb. So.. the minimum.. it's small.

Hi,

I would also like to know if I start on a z8 plan can I change to a z15 plan keeping the original contract start date and not needing to pay out the z8 plan.
