New "Z" plan Pricing
New "Z" plan Pricing
Be wary of at-least the new Z8 plan pricing, it is not as cheap as it seems, you could just as easy sign up to the CAP 19, get a $10 discount on your ADSL and have no contract as an alternative and only $1.00 difference. The savings for this plan seem to be greatly exaggerated in the email sent out, which we fell for.

But don't you also need to factor in the $20 cost of SIM plus activation? So the CAP 19 plan would effectively work out as $128 over 12 months (after factoring in the ADSL discount) whereas with the Z8 plan the cost would be $96. So a saving of $32.

Yes you could be right, I was only looking at the table with costing:nucari wrote:But don't you also need to factor in the $20 cost of SIM plus activation? While having the CAP mobile plan, incase in the future (within 12 months time) you decide to change your Exetel ADSL service to another provider, you will not receive the further discount for your mobile CAP plan. If you have a Z mobile plan, you can continue the mobile service for the same monthly rental even if you change your ADSL service from Exetel.Steves wrote:Be wary of at-least the new Z8 plan pricing, it is not as cheap as it seems, you could just as easy sign up to the CAP 19, get a $10 discount on your ADSL and have no contract as an alternative and only $1.00 difference. If you have ADSL, then I couldn't see why you would get a CAP10 when you could get a CAP19 cheaper.
And while a CAP19 for $9/month is nice, a Z15 for $15/month takes you from 200MB/month to 1500MB/month which is a while lot of peace of mind vs data over quota charges, and the 13/1300/1800 inluded in Z15 cap is similarly good for peace of mind vs CAP plan 13/1300/1800 $1/min guaranteed cost if for example you need to call roadside assistance in a car breakdown or you can't find the FNN equivalent of a 1300 number you need to call.
Z15 is $6/month more expensive than CAP19, but is $1 cheaper than CAP35, and has the above advantages.
