Global Roaming & Members Facilities

Seems like there are currently two ways to enable Global Roaming.

A. Manage->Mobile->Voicemail/Diversions: International Roaming checkbox

B. Manage->Mobile->Global Roaming tab for scheduling start/stop.

Should I use A to enable then B to schedule?
Or does A activate now?
Or will B work on it's own?
Or should Members Facilities be cleaned up eliminating A?

It is only B. Manage->Mobile->Global Roaming tab for scheduling start/stop. :)

Yes it was a duplicate option and now we have removed it. :)

We now have a new members facility, and a new implimentation of global roaming control, with both less and more options. For my purposes, the new control web page fails miserably on two fronts.

1. The scheduling option as disappeared. Whereas previously I was able to schedule GR enable/disable 2 hours before schedule arrival, now it seems I can't. Seems I will have to open a helpdesk ticket and asked Exetel to enable/disable GR on my schedule because I won't be able to do it using my phone when I arrive overseas because GR won't be enabled, and I won't be able to do it using my phone when I arrive back home because GR will be enabled. When I've had to ask Exetel to change GR status it has taken about an hour, and I want my data to be working when I get back in Oz.

2. The new web page just doesn't work sufficient well. I tried enabling/disabling GR to test the new functionality, and it just got itself into an inconsistent state with respect to the actual state of GR as reflected on my phone, and it would not allow me to change the state on the web page, and the web page didn't correctly reflect thet state of my phone.

GR enable => voice/sms roam + data disable, combinded with web based scheduling was perfect for my purposes. The current implimentation is both broken and inferior to the previous implimentation, and also removes a customer retention incentive especially in light of the recent doubling of plan price with the elimination of the old Z15 plan to a $30 plan.

The current implimentation is both broken and inferior to the previous implimentation,
Unfortunately the scheduling option is no longer available.Now you can enable/disable Global Roaming at any time you like via the MyExetel page. In case you can't access the MyExetel page, please email us on residentialsupport@exetel.com.au or provisioning@exetel.com.au so we can arrange it.

We have advised our developers to have a look as to whether there's any issue with activating Global Roaming via MyExetel. Please let us know if the same issue happens again.

Maybe exetel should do some testing of the enable/disable like I did, about 5 minutes apart, and let us know how you go, maybe you can replicate the results, and thus have something to work on, rather than just suggesting I let you know next time I am inconvenienced by it breaking.
