I'm looking at changing to the M8 mobile plan from the old CAP19 why is there a $50 plan change fee, a new connection would cost $20..
thanks
CAP19 mobile plan change
Re: CAP19 mobile plan change
When a customer degrades a plan, our supplier is charging a penalty from Exetel. You may get a new conenction for $20 with a new mobile number. You will not be able to port your existing number in a new application as the suppliers are the same (Exetel).MRisos wrote:I'm looking at changing to the M8 mobile plan from the old CAP19 why is there a $50 plan change fee, a new connection would cost $20..

Re: CAP19 mobile plan change
i have a similar problem.
I'm on the CAP19 right now and want to change to the M15. Is there any way to waive the fee?
This is because overall i still pay more, so its still an upgrade.
currently
$60(adsl2+) + $19 (cap19) -$10 (adsl discount) = $69/month
i was hoping to change it to
$60 (adsl2+) + $15 (M15) = $75/month
the old CAP19 is equivalent to the current M8 in terms of $165 value to call others and 200mb data on both those plans.
Is there anyway to upgrade without the fee? (i know previously there was no fees to change plans)
Thanks

Re: CAP19 mobile plan change
The discount can not be taken into account as it's offered by Exetel for bundling up an ADSL connection. However, when it comes to our supplier, moving from Cap19 to M15 is considered a downgrade as the monthly charge for Cap19 is higher. Hence, it's difficult to waive off the plan change fee.dragon wrote:i have a similar problem.

Re: CAP19 mobile plan change
ok thanks. that makes sense. i guess i wont be changing for now then.
and im not sure if this is an error...
my brother is on the Z8 plan right now and if he was to change to the M15 ($8 plan to $15 plan) there is a $25 plan change fee.

Re: CAP19 mobile plan change
Am in the same boat with OP...
Has anyone tried to port away from Exetel for one month, then port back to Exetel so they only pay $20 activation fee? Or I wonder if this is too much hassle compared to paying $50 plan change fee...
