Help with iphone 3gs

Post by andrewm » Mon May 28, 2012 2:37 pm

Hi
My daughter was given an unused iPhone 3gs locked to Vodafone.
i down loaded cydia to jailbreak and unlock the phone.
I also updated the software to version 5.0.1 before i installed cydia.
Now the phone recognises Optus as the carrier but no service.
I have tried the sim in another phone and it works fine.
Any help appreciated
Regards
Andrew

Baseband might be giving you the issues.

Try to reflash baseband.

1. Just connect ur iphone to redsn0w.
2. Select ipsw and then click on jailbreak and select install base band .

this should do the trick.

PS - on your own risks 8) 8)

Best if you could contact the original carrier for unlocking..

don't bother with trying to hack an unlock, Vodafone don't charge to unlock an iPhone (if it was prepaid that may differ though), go here https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/ha ... ectService enter your IMEI and get it processed
