3G frequencies and bands

Post by axiomatica » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:39 pm

I am using a Galaxy S9000 on a Z plan at the moment and the 3G service is generally great.
I want to buy a chinese android phone that seems very good value for money but I am wondering about the 3g capabilites.

The specs on the phone are listed as:

Connectivity Technology: Dual SIM, GSM+WCDMA 3G
Network Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz & HSPA 2100/850 MHz
Data Technology: GPRS, Edge, HSPDA
No specs on transfer rate or connection speed

as compared with my galaxy:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100
HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps

Should the phone I want to buy work properly on the exetel Optus network?
Thanks
