Mobile phone voicemail and APN reset on Optus

Our mobile services have, in the last few days, had their voicemail setups reset and a request to change the APN. That is, we (my family) have to re-setup their voicemails on our mobile phones, and have been assigned a new PIN to access their voicemails. As well, a request to change our APN's came through. Naturally, without any prior notice, and the risk of unauthorised requests, we ignored the change in settings.

What is going on here? I would have thought that if this was a legitimate request, we would have been informed prior to the request?

Cheers

Hi !

If you've received an email for a APN change , Could you please forward it to us(residentialsupport@exetel.com.au) in order to investigate this.

No email...got a service message (I think that is what it is called) with settings for internet, wap and something else on my mobile phone. Not having received notice of this, I deleted the messsage (there was no option other than to discard or save).

Also my PIN for voicemail (when accessing via a landline) was changed, and I now have to set up my voicemail again (eg welcome message, etc)

Cheers

Greg

PS You wouldn't have the settings for APN, etc that I should be using, so that I can manually enter them, if necessary. Thanks.
PPS Thanks for you quick reply! - Typical excellent service from Exetel!
