Account Hack?

Post by Brooksy » Wed Dec 05, 2012 10:39 am

G'day,

I review all our usage (3 phones) each month and found on my account usage there were 3 international SMS's 1 on 08/11 and 2 on 21/11

2012-11-08 10:48:56 0408XXX690 011447537410230 SMS International SMS 00:00:01 $0.40
2012-11-21 21:20:53 0408XXX690 011447537410223 SMS International SMS 00:00:01 $0.40
2012-11-21 21:20:57 0408XXX690 011447537410223 SMS International SMS 00:00:01 $0.40

There is no reference or listing of these numbers on my phone. I keep all messages and logs until the end of each month for verification.

These messages appear to have been sent during the time I was having problems with the activation of the new nano sim, and it is interesting that this has happened during this time. If these messages were sent as some sort of test on my account by the suppliers, why was I not notified?

I'm not worried about the cost as we don't come close to our allocation (generally < 25% of allocation is used). It is simply a case of these SMS's were NOT sent by me. I have no record of the messages being sent nor do I recognize the numbers.

Has my account been hacked?

Hmmmmm.......

No answer was the reply......

Now to gauge this against 2 other enquiries sent via email day. Let's see which one(s) is(are) answered first....

3 reasonable requests.....

1. Re account hacking
2. Broadband plan changes......
and
3. Mobile plan changes....

The timer is running, place your bets.

From support: "......... are SMS's sent from your device(Iphone presumably) to UK, when you register to applications such as FaceTime and/or iMessage or when you Re-register FaceTime and/or iMessage (by turning it off and on in settings), it also may occur when you update your IOS FaceTime and/or iMessage gets re-registered."
