moto g dual sim mobile

Post by barryron » Fri Aug 04, 2017 4:26 pm

I have two sims one Telstra the other Exetel(Optus) and they have been working fine until I changed the plan on the Exetel from basic to super saver. When it changed over on Aug 1st 2017 the Exetel service went to "no service". I have fiddled for hours to no avail. Anybody know what's happened?

Is it only a plan change or you had a sim change too?

Optus is making changes to their mobile network and they have closed down 2G mobile network from 1st Aug 2017.

If you are currently having 2G network settings on your mobile handset, this change could have affected your service.
You may need to change/force the frequency to 3G 2100 MHz.

Perhaps it's this - after putting in the second SIM, drag down the status bar at the top of the home screen and select "Welcome to your dual SIM".

The second sim slot is 2g and that is where the Exetel (Optus) sim is, therefore when Optus closed the 2g Network on the 1st August 2017 it stopped working. Thanks to those that helped. Barry
