Can we please upgrade to PHP 5.2.6 & MySQL 5?

Post by stormx » Wed Jun 18, 2008 9:13 pm

Now I am using the Exetel provided web space to host a small PHP/MySQL project of mine, its really annoying me having to continuously write it so its compatible with the PHP & MySQL versions Exetel are using. I know its ultra easy to upgrade the PHP & MySQL versions because I am a system administrator of my own, I also it would increase, fix and speed up and secure security holes in the servers to.

I know that paid hosting would be better, but I kinda like cPanel hosting better.

So I was wondering:
1. Could PHP be upgraded?
2. Could MySQL be upgraded?
3. Could the PHPmyAdmin on https://home.exetel.com.au/ Be upgraded.

Hi stormx,

the home.exetel.com.au server is currently slated for a rebuild. You can be sure that when this occurs, MySQL and PHP will both be updated to their respective stable versions.

Hi danielc,

do you have a timeframe for when the server will be rebuilt?

There is currently no timeframe. The best I can do is "It's being worked on".

I doubt that would be an issue. :)
