I am getting my work website up on the new server. Trouble is, punctuation marks are displaying as a black diamond with a white question mark inside. It is like this for an apostrophe and a few m-dashes.
Is this an Exetel issue or something to do with my fonts? The page is written in Truetype Times New Roman, nothing unusual there.

The problem did not exist before the server change, as can be seen here

Re: Font not displaying properly on website
Hi Kim
It's the character encoding on the site causing this issue.
On your old site, the character encoding is set to Western (ISO-8859-1) whereas on the new site it is set to Unicode (UTF-8). If you switch the encoding in your browser you'll see it come good: in Firefox 3, go to the View menu -> Character encoding, while in IE7 go to the View Menu -> Encoding and switch to Western European (ISO) or Western European (Windows).
Andrew might need to tweak something on the new server so the character encoding is correct for visitors to your site, or he can no doubt suggest how you go about fixing the encoding yourself.

Hi Kim
Andrew has advised the following:
Andrew has advised the following:
GidgetKim can fix this via the .htaccess file where he can set a custom default encoding. If it does not work I'll look into the config and make that work. The server default will be UTF-8.

Re: Font not displaying properly on website
Thanks for the help, including a phone call and repaired web page from one person. It's now got the right encoding and I can get back to work.
