I have installed it but when I click on the shortcut nothing happens. I have Java 1.6 installed, is there something I am missing?

One suggestion for the installer package is to include the manual in it and place it in the eXeSMS folder with a shortcut to it.

Which version did you download? And which operation system did you use?

Hi vk3xem,

-Check if the installation directory u installed the app contains a Exetel_sms_db folder

-Uninstall the app and delete any remaining existing files in the installation directory, if any and try downloading the setup again and reinstalling...
-Install the software in a drive other than the C:/ (If currently installed in C:) and try...

Thanks Kalinga,

I re-installed it as you suggested. Then I realised it was trying to open the application with Nokia PC Suite for some reason. Fixed it to open with Java and it works fine now.

I too had this anomaly where the default application to open .jar files was Phone Application Manager. I was unable to open with Java using the context menu Open With...

The .jar default opener is usually an archive manager - they are archive files.

I haven't been able to send web based SMS since I ported from Mobile X to WM A recently. When I use ColbySMS and the new eXeSMS version 2 it says the message has been sent but never arrives.

I have lodged a ticket and it is being investigated. My guess with it happening wiith different apps. that it isn't them that are the problem, it must be somewhere else in the system.

I was able to extract the files, using winrar. However the ExeSMS.exe tires to open the exesms.jar with a mobile phone launch application. When I try to tell it to open the .jar with java.exe a dos window flashes up and nothing further happens.

I think this could be an issue with many users who have Nokia PC Suite installed. Is there a way for eXeSMS.exe to force eXeSMS.jar to be opened with Java?

hi,

strange problem with the compatibility issue with the Pc suites...
if this problem exists try..
-Make sure that you have installed JRE 1.6 or a newer version
If so,
-Go to eXeSMS v2 installation directory
-Right Click on eXeSMS.jar file and go to Open With..
-Click on the "Browse" button
-Go to your JRe installation directory (possibly C:\Program Files\java\JRE)
-Go to the bin folder and select javaw.exe
-Click ok
-Tick the "Always use the selected program to open...."
-Press ok and probably should be okay

PS:

Try javaw.exe in the <JRE-folder>/bin/ folder instead of java.exe

Thanks Kalinga. I had tried that. I get an error. Could not find a main class. Program will exit.
