Optus have a deal for their 3/4G customers where they will be able to stream the 24 World Cup soccer games (via SBS) live on their mobiles for free. Can anyone from Exetel tell us whether:
(a) this will be available to Exetel customers (either at cost or free)
(b) if available and not free, what is the cost
(c) if available, how do we register for it
I'm really hoping this is doable. I don't care what the cost is, just give me my World Cup streaming!
Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?
Re: Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?
Try online viewing from countries where the round ball game has a following - eg, BBC. They won't knowingly stream to Australia, which is where a service like http://www.lamnia.co.uk/ comes in. Once you have a VPN connection, something like http://zattoo.com/ might be useful if you are on Windows (don't bother trying the software download without one).

I hate to say it but the cheapest and easiest option would probably be to go out and buy an Optus prepaid sim.

Who wants to watch sport on a mobile phone?
Re: Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?
I imagine there'll be nothing else on SBS at the time.
Re: Optus live streaming World Cup. Do-able on Exetel?
Wouldn't the answer be no and it will cost 1.5c per MB if on that rate plan seeing that this is not Optus and it is Exetel using an Exetel connection?

so probably no.Optus will deliver live streaming exclusively to Optus 3G mobile customers
