.....Tomorrow The World

Post by ForumAdmin » Fri Nov 26, 2010 2:03 pm

Yesterday we signed a contract to take the first step to expand our Australian network to an Australasian network by putting in place a link from Sydney to Auckland. We will establish a PoP in an Auckland peering centre with the purpose of providing low cost data links for our Australian business customers and to allow us to begin providing links to new Auckland based customers. This is a precursor to establishing PoPs in both the UK and the USA to allow us to offer our Australian customers much lower cost links to their subsidiary/parent companies in those countries. We expect to have those links in place in the second half of 2011. In early 2011 we will decide whether or not to open a small sales/support office in Auckland.

We have also signed contracts with a new IP provider, with whom we have been holding discussions for almost three years – NTT. NTT is one of the largest carriers in the world and, while we have no problems with our current carriers (Optus and Verizon), we need greater levels of redundancy in terms of alternate international paths and NTT is able to do this for us providing a third SX link to the US, an alternate path to the US via Telstra’s Endeavour cable and a faster link to South East Asia via the AJC cable path.
