Going from ADSL1 -> ADSL2+ Need to do anything?
Going from ADSL1 -> ADSL2+ Need to do anything?
Hello,
I was on an ADSL1 plan and have just upgraded to an ADSL2+ plan. I did this yesterday, the day before my next billing period. According to my user facilities, the change is ACTIVE. My speed hasn't changed yet (line sync that is), but I think I read somewhere it can take up to four days.
My question is, do I need to do anything at my end? My ADSL1 and ADSL2+ are via a Telstra exchange, so I don't expect my static IP or anything else to have to change. My modem is ADSL2+ compatible (Billion 7800NL). Will I need to restart my modem? Or will the change in speed at the exchange force a re-sycn? Other than restarting my modem each day, is there a way I can tell when my connection is ready?
Cheers,
Brad

Hi nuranj,
Thank you for looking in to this for me. Just to be clear, do I need to do anything at my end? Will I need to reboot my modem or anything?
Cheers,
Brad

I have checked this with the provisioning team and it appears that the speed change will be completed on 03/09/2012 by close of business.

Re: Going from ADSL1 -> ADSL2+ Need to do anything?
Hi Steve,
Thanks for finding that out for me. One thing though, I'm paying for this service now (since the 20th), but I won't be able to use it until the 04/09/12. That's a bit rough isn't it?
Am I entitled to a bit of a discount for the month or something? Perhaps waiving of the $20 plan change?
Cheers,
Brad

Hi steve, I too have submitted a request to change from ADSL1 to ADSL2 (submitted on the 26-08-12) the status of the change is PENDING. I am just wondering when I can expect the service to change over?
Many Thanks,
Glen-Andrew

Are you saying I won't have a phone line for another 48 hours?
