Belkin ATA VoIP Phone Adapter (model F1PG200ENau)

Post by AL1 » Tue Nov 23, 2010 7:17 pm

If you have a Belkin ATA VoIP phone adapter (probably ex iinet), it can be
used on an Exetel VoIP service. I have just sucessfully installed one as
follows:

Belkin ATA VoIP Phone Adapter (model F1PG200ENau)

Assumptions.
i. You have successfully connected your Belkin ATA VoIP phone adapter to
a modem router currently connected to your Exetel plan with VoIP enabled.

ii. You have been allocated an Exetel VoIP DID (ie. Your VoIP phone number).
You may have chosen this when reuesting the service, Exetel will confirm the DID via the email
sent with the VoIP password.

iii. You have a PC or laptop connected to the modem router

iv. You have a Belkin CD with the ATA Discovery Tool software ...
(note your PC/laptop needs JAVA installed (http://www.java.com) for the tool to work.

The Discovery tool software is available from here...

http://www.belkin.com/au/support/articl ... 000&scid=0

v. You may not need to but ensure that your modem router has port 5060 allowed for UDP.
I have a Netgear modem and created a service called VOIP with port 5060 and allowed this
service from the firewall tab.

Step 1. run the discovery tool. From the 'Discovery / Results' tab double click
on the row found to bring up Windows internet explorer displaying the ATA logon
screen. The row should be something like...

192.168.0.2,UDP,OG3503A_AK01

Step 2. login (password is usually 'admin')

Step 3. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/Server

State <your state>

Address sip1.exetel.com.au

Send Registration Request with Expire Time 240

Outbound Proxy IP sip1.exetel.com.au

Outbound Proxy Port sip1.exetel.com.au

apply changes (usually re-boots the ATA)

Step 4. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/User 1

Change the following:

Primary Server <your DID>

CallerID Name <your DID>

Port 5060

Username <your DID>

Password <provided by Exetel via email>

apply changes (usually re-boots the ATA)

Step 5. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/CODEC

the default codec should already be G729 else change it to G729.

apply changes (if codec changed)

-----------------

You should now be able to use your VoIP service using the Belkin ATA.

Hi there

I just got myself a 2nd hand device for VoIP. Its called Cisco Linksys SPA3102 Voice Gateway with Router. Here is the website:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10027/index.html

I went through the admin dashboard and couldn't figure out what to do in order to set up the service. I tried asking Exetel and they gave me the generic setting details and pointed me back to Linksys for help. I am now in a limbo and can't go any further.

Would you be able to guide me through the setup process? It seems the device has a lot more functions, but I just want to connect to Exetel's VoIP. Any idea? Please help.

Thanks very much in advance.

There are several guides about (they used to be called Sipura)--
for the 3000 model: http://exewiki.exetel.com.au/index.php? ... -_3000_ATA

But there's a good guide for your model at http://www.jmgtechnology.com.au/spa_3102_guide.pdf - you need to change the ISP details.
The main differences:
Proxy: 58.96.1.2
Register: Yes
Register Expires: 3600
Display name & User ID: <Your Voip Number>
Password: <Your VoIP password>

The above guide goes on to show dial plans etc, if you need them.

Once you have the ATA configured and registered you should be able to call out. To get an incoming phone call you'll need to port forward 5060 UDP in your modem-router to the ATA IP address.

You could try following as well,

Connect a telephone handset to the Phone 1 port Check the IP Address of the phone adapter:
Press **** (i.e. press the star key four times)
Wait until you hear response “Linksys configuration menu—please enter the option followed by the # (hash) key or hang up to exit”
Enter 110#
The IP address will be read out - please note it down

Open your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc)
Enter the IP address in the address bar
On the top right side of the window, click on Admin Login
Click on (switch to advanced view) to the left of the Admin Login
On the top nemu, click on Voice

Select the Line 1 tab
For NAT Mapping Enable - select Yes
For NAT Keep Alive Enable - select Yes

For Proxy - enter 58.96.1.2
For Outbound Proxy - enter 58.96.1.2
For Use Outbound Proxy - select Yes

For Display Name - enter your VoIP Number
For User ID - enter your VoIP Number
For Password - enter your VoIP Password
For Preferred Codec - select G711a
Click on 'Submit All Changes' to apply the settings

By default there isn't a password. If you wish you can go straight to http://<ipaddress>/admin/voice otherwise, Admin Login -> Advanced.

[edit] Just had a thought - it's 2nd hand and may now have a password. From the Cisco book, to full factory reset --
To reset the ATA device to the factory defaults, perform the following steps:
1. Connect an analog phone to the ATA device and access the IVR by pressing the
asterisk key four times: ****
Press the appropriate code to reset the unit:
• Press 877778# to reset the unit to the defaults as it shipped from the ITSP.
This will reset the User account password to the default of blank.
• Press 73738# to perform a full reset of unit to the factory default settings.
The Admin account password will be reset to the default of blank.
2. Press 1 to confirm the operation.
Press * to cancel the operation.
3. Log in to the unit using the User or Admin account without a password and
reconfigure the unit as necessary.

Hi Shamin

I've sent you a PM yesterday. Just following up from your voice message. I couldn't take your call when I was at work.

Could you please reply to my PM? I hope you can assist with the setup. Many thanks.

Thanks very much for your help Shamin. Even though we couldn't fix it tonight, I really appreciate your help.

Send me the link as mentioned and I will see if I can solve it over the weekend. Otherwise, we'll have to touch base on Monday.

Thanks again!

As the dial codes are not working try leaving the device turned off for a while. Once the device is turned back on, try resetting the device to factory default and login in using admin (UN) and blank PW. Link below will provide you some useful information on this product.
