Hi guys,
I have just moved into a brand spanking new home with a new ADSL 2 Connection. The cabling was done 2 weeks ago and the connection was connected on Fri 12th. Its a single outlet only with a 3 month old TP-Link TD-W8950ND which performed flawlessly at the last house with 8000 ADSL1. Using the Exetel speed test site Im getting 4mb to 17 mb then 12 mb, 8 mb, then comes good for a couple of tests then slows again. Using the speedtest.net site you can see the spikes in the speed and every test seems to be different. Any Suggestions ?
Cheers Viss

On this pic you can clearly see the spike, it was downloading at 13 mbs then spike to 19 I have had it spike to over 20 mbs, then I will get a test that says 5 or 6 mbs

Do you have software that can chart the download rate (easy on Linux, harder on others)? If so, point it at a download from an Akamai server co-located with Exetel (Microsoft, Apple, even the Daily Mail). Your line rate is faster than many servers are prepared to match - you need a quick un, nearby on the network.
