Re: Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?
It may be partly related, but I've even noticed a few (very obvious) spam positives creeping through on Gmail. And I checked my Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (the spam filer for Office 365 hosted email that I have at work) and about 95% of all incoming email was reported to be spam!
So it seems that spam is worse than ever.
Having said that, my (completely unofficial) opinion is that no spam filter works as effectively as Gmail's. Redirecting exemail email to GMail (or indeed any online webmail) has a lot of benefits: it's spam filtering is free, webmail is very full featured, large online archival and storage space, it provides a non-ISP specific public email address that can be used indefinitely into the future, IMAP support, phone apps...the list goes on. While it is true that the "cost" is the targeted advertising / personalised data that such companies glean from you, this seems a small price to pay for the features that are offered.

Dear Exetel,
This is taking a surprising amount of time, considering we are all paying for this service.

sean.

Re: Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?
We are working as quickly as possible, the kit has not arrived yet.
Re: Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?
Ok. So while we wait for the kit, is it still worthwhile sending the spam to Spam@exetel.com.au or is it currently a waste of time?
Re: Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?
The kit arrived today, looking at being deployed this week.
I wouldn't send it to spam@ at the moment.

Has the spam filter been implemented yet? I am still getting massive amounts of crud.
Re: Is Exetel's Ironport Spam Filter still effective?
Not yet.
Hoping for today, if not tomorrow.
