Speed down to a 3rd of normal as of wed Morning 11th

Post by ilce » Wed Nov 11, 2015 6:54 am

Woke up with wife complaining the wifi was down. Reset modem.

Speed usually around (yes it sucks but that's the best I get)
Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 384
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 2800

This morning

Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 384
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 1088

5 resets and it stays the same.

I don't have any phones connected. Just 1 line straight to my Modem.

Apparently my port was reset. Made no difference. Just modem connected to line as 1st point with nothing else on the line. Still slow down. Multiple resets. Have responded to email and answered all the fault finding questions.

Seems you are seeing low sync rates on your service. This will need to be investigated. I will go through your response and get back to you via email.

Well I'm not happy at all

all good overnight and at 9am this morning , internet dies. Reboot and sync speed 900. 3 reboots, same, spare modem same.

This is happening almost everyday for last 2 weeks. (after 1 week of off and on i reported it last wednesday)

If you send a technician around its a 50/50 chance it will be good or bad when they show up, and if its good I get slammed $220+ dollars.

I have tested at the point coming into the house with a modem and laptop and when its bad I get 1000 and when its good its 2700-2900

Right now for last 50 mins multiple reboots and its staying around 1000. I will wait till this afternoon and it may come back, it may not.

So frustrating. I am at the point where I have to make a video of me testing the point at the side of the house to prove to you guys whats going on so I cover myself from begin charged a call out fee incorrectly.

I rang tech support before this email and they another line test (probably 10th now). All my history is linked to my reference number. Really getting frustrated now.

Apologies but in the event a technician is sent out, that term advised applies. Please let us know how you go when you check later on in the day.

I refer to the ticket 9614697 and expecting a response from you, with the requested line test arrangements and the term explained agreement.

I rang and because its OK now they want me to monitor again.

33 hours now and it has not died or slowed down. That is a 1st for 2 weeks.

Hopefully it stays this way and if it does it seems something was going on in Optus land that they may have rectified.
