Additional Information: Some customers in the above mentioned area may experience a complete disruption on the connection.

Root cause : Still being investigated.

UPDATE

Our suppliers Field Operations have tested the fibres from the exchange and have identified a suspected fibre cut in the Chatswood Exchange towards St Leonards Exchange, impacting multiple Corporate Data services.

Their Fibre crews are being mobilised to the suspected fault location to identify the issue.

Outage is still ongoing. Technicians are still on site & working on it. Our wholesale supplier is unable to provide us with an estimated time of resolution.

Outage is still ongoing. Technicians are still on site & working on it. Our wholesale supplier is unable to provide us with an estimated time of resolution at the moment. We will update with an ETR as soon as it is confirmed.

UPDATE

Fibre techs have been working through the night (repairs still ongoing)

In total, 4 cables have been damaged . The damage has been caused by construction crew working on an apartment complex (large site) within close proximity of the Telstra exchange.

ETR at this stage is still unknown. New updates will be provided when available.

Splicing ongoing on first cable.

In parallel our supplier has also hauled and commenced setup and prepping on a second cable.

Update

Splicing on the first cable is almost completed with some services resuming connectivity.

Technicians will continue efforts to complete work on this cable overnight. In parallel, work is underway on the second cable with additional resources engaged to assist.

We are not able to provide an Estimated Time of Resolution yet.

Update

Repairs to the first 312 fibre cable has been completed. Teams have identified a fifth 120 fibre cable has also been damaged.
Preparation work and repairs to the remaining cables are ongoing.

We are unable to provide an Estimated Time of Resolution yet.

Repairs completed for the first two 312 fibre cables and post checks continue.

Third cable jointing in progress and services will see progressive restoration.

Replacement cable for the fourth (624 fibre) cable has arrived and being prepared onsite for hauling.

The fifth 120 fibre cable is currently being hauled into place. There is also a 120 fibre cable that is partially damaged and repair works for this cable will be performed under a maintenance window tonight.

Final Estimated Time of Resolution still unknown.

Fibre splicing continues on the 3rd (312 fibre) cable with repairs nearing completion.

The 112 fibre cable is still carrying traffic (partial damage) and will be repaired under a maintenance window tonight.

Most of the services have been restored by repairs to 3 X 312 and 1 X 120 cables.

The final 624 cable is being hauled and prepped today. Splicing is due to commence late evening 09/06 however will be depending on environmental issues around the fibre damage location.

Technicians are currently working to restore impacted services.

Final Estimated Time of Resolution still unknown.

UPDATE

Most of the services have been restored.

RTA (Traffic Control) have given approval for hauling the final 624 cable to commence at 18:00 EST, 9/6/2018. This will be followed by cable set up (312fibre x 2 cables) which is anticipated to be completed mid morning, 10/6/2018

UPDATE

Most of the services have been restored.

Hauling completed for one 312 cable. Splicers are on site preparing for the splicing. Plan is to start from fibre 1 and work toward 312. They are been planed not to touch the working fibres 79-84 and 289-334. Normalisation of these fibres will be done under planned work Arrangements to be confirmed for (312 - 624) cable for tonight as we will need to arrange road closure again and then organise hauling and splicing staff.
