Phone dying

Post by muzzatron » Wed Dec 19, 2018 5:50 pm

HI there,
Ive been using an iphone 5s and it's started going weird. I can use the screen for about 30 sec then it just freezes up.
I will try and do a restore tonight. Fingers crossed!!!

But just wondering what to do if I need a new phone? Not sure I have $1000 to spare?? :-( I did see Kogan selling refurbished phones not sure if that is a good thing?

Any thoughts?

UPDATE
I think my iphone 5s may have been hacked or has some nasty software running on it.

It takes a long time to start up.
The touch screen works intermittently.Clicks on things on it's own.
I rebooted the phone numerous times and once it went into my contacts and to ring a number, 2nd time it opend up WIFI preferences. Both time I shut it off ASAP.

So seemed pretty suspicious!!!

I did, try to do a restore but had issues downloading the update software (which is 2.8gig or so). It would get to about 1gig and time out. Then I would have to restart the download again. This used up a fair bit of ADSL data.
Still can't download it.

I have left it turned off now.

So not sure what to do now? If anyone has a suggestion please let me know!! Thanks

Looking at your explained mobile issue, it is recommended to check this with apple support, since this seems to be a device specified issue.
