Update

Testing has identified cable damage approximately 17.5km from Chatswood exchange.

Our supplier technicians are currently working to restore impacted services.

Estimated Resolution : Our wholesale supplier is unable to provide us with an estimated time of resolution.

The supplier has confirmed that a Team of Fibre technicians are currently at the site of the cable damage, and working on fixing the issue.

Estimated Resolution : Our wholesale supplier is unable to provide us with an estimated time of resolution.

Update

The supplier technician Team has confirmed that the Cable Damage has been caused by third party boring, which has broken 288 Fibres. The damage location is 543 Victoria Road, Ermington. The technician Team has already requested for the replacement Fibre to be brought in.

We now have confirmation on the affected customer locations. Please note that customers in the listed locations and nearby suburbs will experience connectivity issues.

Locations Affected : Wollongong, Pendle Hill, Nowra, Berkeley Vale, Campbelltown, Richmond, Mosman, Rockdale, Dubbo and Albury

Root Cause : Fibre cut

The supplier technician Team has confirmed that the new cable has arrived at the site of the damage. The supplier may need traffic management engagement since the site is located on a major road.

The supplier has advised, that traffic control was on site. They have advised that no work can commence until 20:00 EDST, due to peak traffic in the area.

The supplier's Fibre crew has confirmed that 216 fibres have been successfully spliced, restoration on the rest of the damaged fibres will continue throughout the day.

Estimated Time of Restoration : Our wholesale supplier estimates the restoration of all fibres can be completed by 23:59 on Friday 05/04/2019
