Scheduled Email To Fax Delay November 20th, 2007

Post by William M » Tue Nov 20, 2007 11:27 am

A scheduled upgrade will be undertaken on the Email to Fax server.

This will result in Email to Faxes being delayed for processing till after 5:30pm this afternoon.

Exetel Pty. Ltd. apologises for any inconvenience.

Hi
1st Time I sent Faxes yesterday. Has system been reinstated as I have no notification of Faxes Sent? This will be a good thing if it works right. Keep up the Good Work.
Thanks

Hi All,

The current system is still under going a scheduled upgrade.

Further notices will be posted as soon as they are available.

Replies will be sent advising that the Email to Fax system is currently being upgraded should they pass validation and authentication.

Hi,

We are still currently undertaking the upgrade.
Again, notice will be given once it has been placed back into production.

Thanks Will.

Have you considered a "fax to email" facility as well?

Fax to email has not been planned for implementation as far as I am aware.

Personally, I don't see any advantage of implementing such as service. Though, if enough requests are made for such a service its implementation would be investigated and considered.

I thought that would have been a natural consequence of setting a Fax Server.

If it's not likely to happen, I'll need to get another service and if I start advertising the Fax Number it will be hard to change.

Cheer,

Mike

I have been able to get this:

- by using a service which allows me to send and receive faxes (e.g. utbox)

- by using a voip DID which can receive a fax (oztelll, and some others)

Each has its virtues and charges....... and I am looking forward to seeing what exetel can come up with...

fax to email

Post by antonio » Sat Nov 24, 2007 7:26 am

I have been using Mbox Fax-in only service for over 6 years, so this exetel email to Fax service is just what I need to avoid having to mess around rebooting from linux to windows just to send a PC fax.

I have not checked how Mbox compares now, as once you have a fax-in number it's messy changing services. Mbox service is good and reliable.

However if exetel offered this I would consider it, especially if it where available to a portable number (voip number?).

:)

There are currently no plans to implement a method that involves allocating a portable number.

The Email 2 Fax service is currently being offered as a general additional service for Exetel customers that allows customers to Email faxes and that is all at this stage.

Is the fax via email working?

I sent a fax 23/11/07.
My recipient has not received it and it is not showing in the fax log.

I guess the obvious answer is no.
Is this fax queued to send? or do I need to resend again?

Thanks in advance.

Great service BTW.

Hi Davester,

Unfortunately, you will need to resend the fax.
The Email To Fax service will be available again this week as soon as the remaining issues are resolved.

Thanks Will

Dear All,

The Email To Fax facility is now operational once again.

Please feel free to send your faxes in the same manner as prior to the scheduled maintenance.

Thanks Will
