Changing IP Address

If I choose to change my IP address in the user facilities, is it an automatic instant thing? or does it happen the next working day when someone has to do it manually?

Am I notified by email that it's done?
What else do I have to then do when it's done?

It happens straight away, but you'll need to turn your modem on and off.

Do I need to turn it off for any set length of time?

Turned it off for 15 mins to make sure, it's all done now.
