JDBC support

Post by neozenith » Thu Mar 26, 2009 1:58 am

Hypothetically I want to write an applet that interfaces with the MySQL database on the free web server, using my free web space, can this be done?

Or is it because the applet itself is residing on the client's end when executed, 'localhost' won't work (being a serverside name)?

Other than that, does the server have JDBC support? eg Connector/J? Because I also have an open access MySQL db on awardspace.com I could connect to instead. It is I'd rather migrate away from awardspace for my free web hosting projects.
