OTA not charged for excess
OTA not charged for excess
I moved to the OTA last month. I had full speed the whole month but wasn't charged for excess usage. When I went over the 10GB and kept full speed and got told by support that my account was set to excess @ 50c/GB I happily used lots of peak (knowning I would pay for it). I have just got my bill and there isn't any excess usage. Should I have been charged or was I just lucky I didn't get shaped? Whats the deal with the first month on the new plans are they on the no excess/shaped by default? I selected the 50c/GB option on the 25th / June and it now says that my selection is active so I am going to assume I will be charged for my peak excess.
Re: OTA not charged for excess
Possibly the shaping was functionally removed by support, but the 50c per GB charge was 'pending' in the billing systems until 1st July, therefore billing systems saw you as "shaped do not charge" until the end of the month??
Just a stab in the dark.
Check Member Facilites --> View My Service Details --> Change Peak Excess Downloads Option
Table at the top should look something like:
Service Number...Request Date............Request Status... Access Charge After Included Peak Download
########## ......2010-06-25 18:23:35... ACTIVE .............$0.50 Per GB thereafter

Yep that's what mine looks like. Well I certainly won't complain that I havn't been charged but I also won't complain if the charge turns up next month.

Re: OTA not charged for excess
Very prudent and sensible approach to take. The 50c excess option has had its fair share (probably more) of implementation glitches and queries, so I'd expect things to be running as intended next (this) month.greesha wrote:but I also won't complain if the charge turns up next month.
